My Second Bake

My Second Bake - using buttercream frosting
I’ve got a time to bake my second cake last Sun, 2nd of June.
This time, we bought a scale to have at least the right proportion of the ingredients’ measurement...  Using the same recipe printed at the back of REDMAN Cake Mix, I’ve mix all the ingredients. I put the batter to the cake pan, set on the oven by placing the tray 1 down a bit (compare to the settings I did in the first bake), set it to 180c, and 20 minutes in to baking.
After baking of 20 minutes, I let it cool first for at least 2-3 minutes from the oven leaving the oven door a bit open. Then remove the cake from the pan and placed it on the cake board. Whoaa I can say that I think I made it to a perfect cake!
I add icing and some chocolate balls on the cake for the decoration. Now I can say that I think I can now move on to the next level – Choco Fudge Cake!

Aleina’s Health Update

As of today, well I can say is Aleina’s doing well. She’s very well and no more runny/clogged nose since last Saturday as I can remember...
So I asked Irish to stopped her clogged/runny nose and cough medication though her constipation should be monitored and if she poo well now we can also stopped that medication...
The only remaining for my baby now in which I still a little bit worried is her sensitive nose. Till now I can hear something in her nose while asleep. But her medication for sensitive nose is still on going until 15th June; which is also completing it’s 10 days. It’s actually a must that her pedia doctor told me during the appointment...
Still, I’m hoping that sensitive nose will cure fast...

Time for a Check Up

It’s almost 3 weeks when Aleina got her flu. She started first with an on and off fever for 2 days then but thanks GOD after that her fever just gone away, only flu remained.
I was feeling anxious for Aleina’s flu coz it’s almost 3 weeks already. Sometimes I feel something every time she breathe but I’m quite not sure whether it’s coming from her lungs or just from the nose. So this time, we gotta need to send her to an specialist – Pediatrician.
Her first paediatrician is in KKH – Dr. Shrenik – but it requires 1 month before I can book an appointment with him... So he’s not our first option...
Second pedia is Dr. Ang Ai Tin, she’s very good in handling my baby coz I’ve send Aleina there twice, from allergy to wheez, we made Aleina better. Only cons are just her clinic is in Thompson Paediatric Centre while we’re in Sengkang area; too far from us, but she’s #1 choice for me. In spite of this, there’s gonna be a long queue, 2 interchange and 1 shuttle bus if by mrt or by taxi which will cost me $$$ + extra $ for peak hour surcharge, and her professional fee is a bit expensive too...
Reading along the forum, I wanted to try Kids’ Clinic @ Rivervale Mall. There are 2 doctors there – Dr. Lilian Lim and Dra Allyson Tan. Had read that both of them are quite good in handling babies, fee-wise is a bit expensive if you could compare with the GP (of course!)... Super long queue, as per the post it may took 4 hours more or less and some of them have a bad experienced with the nurse there.
I brought Aleina at the clinic yesterday, arrived there @ 10am. I’ve requested for a WFH (Work-From-Home) and thanks to my boss, he understands me. We arrived late, according to the nurse/secretary in that clinic, they only accept walk-in before 9am. So meaning before 9am I should’ve done the registration first. Luckily, the nurse there allows my daughter for check up, though it was our first time. Registration was just very quick, they only got very few and important information. After registration, they’ve informed me to come back after 6-7 hours (yes! That very long queue) and may baby was the last patient... (Btw, you don’t really need to bring your baby for registration. I just wanted to bring her out to have some air J).
So we went back home and wait... Of course, while waiting I was doing my work too...
Got a call from the clinic at 4:05am and told me to go down for Aleina’s check up. Service for me seems to be good compared to other mummies I’ve read in forums. When we reached the clinic, we only waited for about 15 minutes... Then, it’s Aleina’s turn. The available doctor there is Dr. Lilian Lim, she’s quite good and tried to convince my baby to do minor checking... Still my baby cried though...
The check up was just quick for about 10minutes or around that. Thanks God that Aleina is still ok, no wheeze yet, only sensitive nose aka allergy and some runny/clogged nose. Her pedia gave her some medicines for this and I also ask additional one for my baby’s constipation.
Appointment fee + medicines are quite reasonable as this is our first time visit compare with that of TPC. We’ve paid total of $131 compare to TPC of the usual $180...
Now we’ve started her medication, hoping that she’ll be cure soonest as possible.
